Back in 1994, people didn’t think that Meat Loaf would be successful with singing National Anthem, but he proved them to be wrong. His rendition is clearly one of the best ever sang.
Before Martin Lee Aday sang the National Anthem, “It’s one of the warmup songs I do before I go on stage. Then I go out and sing stuff that doesn’t resemble it.” he said.
“It’s a very dramatic song, and I’m going to sing it slow and dramatic.” Meat Loaf added, as he was wearing his iconic rainbow brocade vest.
Meat Loaf described himself as “an American League kind of guy,” and that “I believe in Santa Claus, Christmas, the Easter Bunny, and the designated hitter,” he laughed.
As people were shocked with his rendition of the National Anthem, they commented as:
“I’ve been screaming for almost 30 years about how perfect this performance was… so nice that people are now finally giving it the recognition it always deserved.”
“No endless runs… no falsetto screeching… this is how it’s done.”
”I was there… I saw people in every section wiping tears from their eyes, and even children were moved! It was stunningly awesome!”
