BOY DIDN’T SPEAK UNTIL HE WAS FIVE, AND WHEN HE DID, THE LIVES OF HIS FAMILY GOT CHANGED

Danny was a special boy. Betty, her grandmother, was aware that he was different, while the doctors were saying that Danny had a development difficulty. But for Betty, Danny was just a different boy.

It was his fifth birthday, Betty was happy that Danny was in his favourite place, where he would stay when he was happy.

Louise, Danny’s mother and Albert, his father, were busy, as Louise was dealing with the cake while Albert was finishing his emails.

While no one was looking at them, and Danny was alone with his grandmother, he turned to Betty and ”Grandma,” he said. which stopped Betty’s heart. “Mommy has a secret.”

When Louise appeared, Danny went back to his place near the window with fear on his face.

She told her son to play with his toys.

When Louise went to the kitchen once more, Danny told her that his mother is going to leave.

Betty was shocked with the things she just heard. Danny told his grandma that his mother was talking to someone on the phone.

Then Louise appeared, “Danny, that’s enough!”

“No, let him finish.” Betty stopped her daughter.

Danny revealed that his mother was talking to another man and told him that his mother was not in love with his father anymore and that he also heard his mother speaking about him being a weirdo.

Danny said to his grandmother that his mother wanted to escape from the hell she was living in.

As Louise started to cry, Albert was petrified. He was frozen with what he just heard. She tried to assure Albert that Danny misheard her.

Albert didn’t want to listen Louise. Betty was at the side of Albert and her grandson. She told Albert to pack some clothes and come with her until he can find a place to live. She wanted her son-in-law to divorce from her own daughter. She explained that she would support her for the custody and divorce.

Louise had no idea that she would regret her decision, but she needed to live it to learn it.
