Jen was a single mother to her son, Liam, who was eight. She was a doctor, and her job would sometimes take long hours to return back to her son. As it was not easy, her son was always her priority.
Few weeks ago, as her shifts took longer time for her to return, Jen would find her son more and more exhausted each day she returned back to home.
She asked her son that if he was okay, and Liam told his mother that he was fine. Then she asked to Grace, her son’s nanny, that if she saw anything and she said that the school might be exhausting him.
One evening, after she sent Liam to bed, Jen decided to check the security footage. She was shocked, because she saw Grace cleaning him after he was looking covered in dirt and tired.
Then Grace placed her finger on her lips and shushed Liam.
On the next day, Jen decided to follow them as she took a day off from hospital. She started to follow Grace, who was taking Liam to an abandoned building.
She was recording her to gather evidence if Grace was doing something illegal. In the building, Grace took Liam down into the basement.
When she went after them, she found Liam next to a cardboard box. Grace was folding a fabric, and when she saw Jen, she dropped it to the ground.
“What is this?” Jen asked, “What’s going on here?”
As Grace was petrified, Liam slowly approached to his mother, “I… I was trying to surprise you, Mom.”
Liam revealed that he found an old diary of his mother. He told that he read how upset she was when her parents pushed her to be a doctor.
Liam told his mother that he just wanted to make his mother happy. He asked Grace to find him a place where he can find a location for him to build a place for his mother to sew.
“We got you something special.” Liam said as he pointed the big carboard box in the middle of the room.
Grace explained that Liam saved all his money to buy his mother a sewing machine which was in a great condition.
She rushed towards her son and hugged him tightly. She was crying as she was emotional because of her son’s actions. She was grateful for Liam to be a son like he is.
