On the 15th of October, 50-year-old supermodel Tyra Banks received harsh comments from social media users with her appearance at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York.
The supermodel wore a bold, body catching black ensemble with a corset and a cape. Her hair was looking wild and gave her a fierce look.
After the show, Banks shared her runway walk from her social media account, and captioned the moment with, “In case you forgot.”
There were some comments about Tyra Banks’ appearance as:
“Is that Tyra? I so did not recognize her! 🫨”
“Tyra don’t look like Tyra anymore [sic],”
“Thought that was RuPaul 😬,”
“Girl that’s rupaul 😭😭 [sic].”
“Where are Tyra’s wings? 😭 This is her runway comeback, and you gave her that cheap cape and a pair of leggings!?”
“I really needed this…but the hair and outfit were just not at all what I expected for THE angel. VS, you crazy…Tyra needed some feathers, glitz and WINGS! AND let the woman do a full walk. She’s the reason I watched [sic]!”
Before she reappeared on the runway in 2024, back in 2019, Banks shared a post from her social media account, where she captioned it as, “She used to model. She retired to be a business boss. Now she’s back. #BanX”
Banks was 45 when she talked with ET, where she gave an interview about her return. She told them, “I decided to come out of retirement because I always say there’s no such thing as cookie-cutter beauty to me. I’m gonna bust those beauty walls down.”
“I retired from modeling because I didn’t want to age out of the system.”
“I used to feel like my body was not mine. I’ve been too thin or too big. And I used to feel like I was betraying people if I lost weight,” Banks said.
