Molly’s son Ben walked into the house with tears in his eyes. He was incredibly upset, and it was unusual to see him like this.
He was 12, and seeing him like this devastated Molly.
She asked what happened, but Ben was not talking. Then he slowly revealed the truth. Mr. Peterson, Mack, promised Ben $50 each time he wash his car, but it has been the fourth time and he still didn’t pay the money.
When Ben asked for the money he earned through hard work, the man refused to pay as he wanted him to get a lesson from life.
She then gave her son $200, and stated that now Mack owed him money. She was sure that she will ruin his life until she received the money.
On the next day, Molly went to talk with Mack. She told him that he wasn’t happy with Ben’s job where he washed his car for a month.
“The car wasn’t spotless, so I didn’t see the need to pay him.” Mack said as he was grinning. He told her that it was a learning experience.
Molly told him that she had the pictures of the car, each time Ben took after he was finished with the car. And it was clear that in the pictures the car was “spotless.”
She then continued with saying that their verbal agreement was breached by one of the parties, and that she should involve her lawyer to the matter. She told him that she was there to inform him about the matter.
Mack went pale. He said that there wouldn’t be a need for that.
Then the deal was there for Mack, either he would pay $200 to Ben, or Molly would talk with her lawyer about the situation.
He opened his wallet immediately and tried to give it to Molly. Molly stopped him. She wanted Mack to apologize from Ben, and if he forgave Mack, then he can pay him as they agreed.
Mack directly went to apologize from Ben, and after ben forgave him, he paid and apologized again before he left.
