Famous and iconic actress Meg Ryan decided to leave the spotlight because she wanted to focus her life as a mother. As she raised two incredible children, she talked about her family.
After “When Harry Met Sally” and “Sleepless in Seattle,” Meg had an incredible place in the industry.
When she was at the top, Meg decided to take a break. “I took a giant break because I felt like there were so many other parts of my experience as a human being I wanted to develop.”
She welcomed Jack Quaid from her husband Dennis Quaid, and then adopted her daughter Daisy, from China.
“I have two kids, and I think that part of my life served my [ability] to direct the best,” Meg Ryan said in 2016.
While she was away from the spotlight, the way she looks at things had changed too. “It’s nice to think of it as a job and not a lifestyle,” Meg Ryan said. She found happiness in raising her family.
Back in October of 2023, Meg Ryan talked about raising her children, and how the experience changed her. “I have two of the greatest kids,” she added. “They’re just a blast. It is just a true joy.”
“Becoming a parent instantly makes you not the most important person in the room,” Meg added.
Jack Quaid is 32 now and he made a name for himself in the industry. He started to act in 2012, with a small role in “The Hunger Games,” and his breakthrough came with his starring in “The Boys.”
“They don’t really give me advice,” Jack said. “I’ve never asked them, ‘How should I perform this scene?'”
“That ‘nepo stuff’ is so dismissive of his work ethic, his gifts, and how sensitive he is to the idea of his privilege,” she explained. “Jack is really talented — more of a natural than I’ll ever be.”
In 2006, Daisy was adopted by Meg. Daisy was in an orphanage in Shanghai, China, and it was a deliberate action from Meg Ryan.
