THE PHRASE MEGHAN MARKLE IS USING FOR HERSELF WHILE TALKING TO TEENAGERS

On the 2nd of October, Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara received a famous guest, Meghan Markle. The girls had various activities with Markle, as they were surprised with her visit.

Markle was there with a purpose, and that was to support the launch of a new digital initiative, Social Media U.

The aim is to help young people to receive aid with the challenges of life through the internet.

Girls Inc., and #HalfTheStory are collaborating for the purpose of their new project.

#HalfTheStory Founder Larissa May talked about how Markle shared her own experiences with bullying. “We did an activity where we talked through a bunch of scenarios,” Larissa said. “Meghan talked about being one of the most bullied people in the world.”

“We had girls wave these little emoji signs and talk about how each one of these scenarios would have impacted them emotionally,” May added.

People praised and sympathized with Meghan like:

“Sending hugs to Meghan. Yes, she’s put up with too much abuse. I do not have time to dislike anyone.”

“This is exactly why she has to make this speech, because of these nasty comments. No matter what she does, y’all are quick to judge her. Y’all don’t know her, just let her live[sic].”

“If she can help change their story, then good on her.”

“I think Camilla receives a lot more criticism, yet she quietly endures it and continues to do her duty, representing the Crown.”

Back in August, Harry and Meghan talked about their children, and the dangers of the internet.

“Our kids are young. They’re three and five. They’re amazing,” Markle said.

“All you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”
