After Elly’s mother Samantha passed away, she decided to sell the house which was a painful memory for her. Her father abandoned his family when she was a little girl. After she sold the house, she decided to buy an RV and start her journey to scatter her mother’s ashes.
She loaded the RV with her stuff, and drove it for hours. As the sun set, she decided to rest. At that moment, the engine of the RV gave a loud sound, and it stopped working. She was frustrated as she was stranded in woods, at night.
As she was close to the road, she saw a truck was coming towards her way. She waved at the old man who was driving the truck, and the kind man stopped his car.
Elly then explained what happened and asked for help. The old man, Olliver, and his daughter, Grace, introduced themselves and offered to tow her RV to the nearest station.
She gladly accepted their offer.
While they were on the road, Grace told a story of how they got lost in the woods once, when her father, Olliver refused to take a map with them while they were hiking. They laughed together.
When they were at the station, the repairman told Elly that it would take a few days for him to repair the engine.
Then Olliver took them to the nearest motel. As he was paying, a picture fell from his wallet. An old, yellowed pictured. Elly was shockingly asked who the picture was belonged to.
Grace told Elly that the woman was her father’s first love, who he couldn’t forget even after her mother’s passing.
Elly whispered then, “That’s my mom…”
As Grace and Olliver were shocked, she pulled a letter from her bag and told him that if he left Samantha for another woman.
Grace was shocked when she saw the letter. “That’s… that’s my mother’s handwriting,” she said. Then she continued as she told her father that her mother wanted to be with him, and that’s probably why she wrote the letter.
It turned out that Grace’s mother, Amanda, had write a letter to Samantha from Olliver’s mouth and told her that he was leaving her for another woman, without Olliver’s knowledge.
Then she wrote a letter to Olliver from Samantha’s mouth that she was leaving her. He had no idea that Samantha was pregnant, or Amanda fooled both of them.
As Elly thought that she was left alone in this world, while she was on the road with a purpose, she found her father, and her half-sister.
After she scattered her mother’s ashes at the beach where her childhood had passed, she stayed with her new family.
