Despite the warnings to evacuate, a social media influencer decided to stay in her Sarasota apartment, and shared her decision from the social media, and her followers were left scared.
Before the Hurricane Milton made landfall, many people left the places which are on the path of the storm. However, a social media influencer, 32-year-old Caroline Calloway shared from her social media account that she will stay.
“So if you’ve been following Hurricane Milton, um, I’m going to die.”
Calloway shared that she can’t drive, and the local airports were closed. That put her in a difficult position, and also she stated that she had a trauma from the past hurricane evacuations.
When Hurricane Ian happened, Calloway was evacuated by U.S. military, after struggling for three days without food, power, or running water.
“I don’t want to evacuate to my mom’s house because the last time I did that it was the worst time ever,” 32-year-old influencer said.
She also stated that her home was in the third floor, so she was not afraid of flooding. “The building’s never flooded before,” Calloway shared, as she stated that her house had hurricane precautions with graded windows and three-foot-thick concrete walls.
Calloway is also staying for to promote her new book, as she is using this trouble time for her own opportunity. “Listen, they’re not entirely wrong,” she said when asked about it. “I am promoting my book right now.”
