When Jane told her husband Matt that she wanted a home birth, he didn’t like the idea at first. When her MIL Elizabeth heard it, she loved the idea.
She told Jane that she will be there to support her no matter what, and she insisted when Jane hesitated.
As Jane saw her MIL that attentive, she accepted her to be present during her home birth.
When the due day arrived, and her water broke, Jane’s midwife Rosie rushed into the house.
As the birth started, Elizabeth started to walk around the room nervously. Her nervousness, troubled Jane as she thought that something was not right.
Before she could say something, Elizabeth left the room as she talked about getting some water for her.
Josh then asked to Jane that if he should talk with her. Jane told him not to, because she thought that she was just nervous because it would be her first grandchild.
Then they heard weird noises coming from out of the room. A music and voices were coming. Matt decided to check while Rosie wanted her to push.
Few minutes later, Matt returned. He was shocked. He told Jane that his mother was throwing a party in their living room.
Jane was frozen with frustration. Matt told her that there were at least a dozen people were in their home at that moment.
As Jane was filled with rage, she tried to stand up, despite Rosie told her not to. She wanted to see for herself.
When she left the room, she saw many people were waiting for the arrival of the baby. There was a banner on the wall, “WELCOME BABY MILTON!”
Jen yelled at Elizabeth, and asked about the nonsense. Elizabeth went pale when she saw Jen in front of her.
The mother-in-law told her that they were celebrating.
“Celebrating? I’m in labour, Elizabeth! This isn’t a damn social event!”
This was not a circus as Jen told her mother-in-law. She dismissed everyone, and returned to the room to continue her labour. Matt kicked everyone out, and returned to his wife’s side. Few hours later, they welcomed their baby boy, Milton.
Then Elizabet arrived, and asked to see her grandson. Jen yelled “NO!”
Elizabeth begged as she apologized. She pleaded to see her grandson. As Jen looked at her husband, she gave her five minutes and then she needed to go.
“Jen I’m so sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking. I just got so excited and carried away.”
Jen forgave her, as she let her stay. Elizabeth apologized a lot, and she gave the support Jen needed this time.
