After 80s series “Magnum P.I.,” Tom Selleck rose to stardom. When he was at the peak of his career, he wanted to take a break from his career to focus on his family.
Later, Selleck stated that he quit because he was exhausted, not because he was not fond of the series. Selleck stated that he felt exhausted and wanted to rest for a while.
In 90s, Selleck returned with small roles on “Friends” and “The Closer,” then he starred in the “Jesse Stone.” Later he acted along with Donnie Wahlberg, on “Blue Bloods.”
He met Jillie Mack in 1983, and in 1987 they tied the knot. A year after their wedding, the couple welcomed their daughter, Hannah Selleck.
“I’ve always treasured the balance between work and time with my family. It’s always about them.”
When Selleck is not filming, he is with his family at his ranch in Ventura, California. “My relationships and my ranch keep me sane.”
For Selleck, his family, wife Mack, daughter Hannah, and son from his first marriage, Kevin and his ranch are the priority. Selleck is a devoted family man.
His first marriage was with actress and model Jacqueline Ray, back in 1971. They were both acted in “Magnum P.I,” and they stayed in their relationship for a decade.
“It’s one of the great sorrows of my life that we can’t be together—I’d always planned to be married for the rest of my life,” Selleck said back in 1982, after their divorce.
“That’s the cliché, that’s the meaty story: Spouse Dumps Spouse After She Gives Him the Best Years of Her Life. But it’s not true, and it’s not nice, or fair, or kind,” Selleck said after the rumours of him leaving Jacqueline after he became famous. Selleck stated that their split happened “a full six months before I even shot the pilot of Magnum.”
