Greece always had a place in Deb’s heart. She always thought of having a vacation in there, where she would walk on the ruins of Athens, or watch the sunset in Santorini.
She saved money for that dream for all her life. She wanted to go there with her husband, Frank. They were married for years, and Frank knew what his wife wanted, as he was aware of her dream.
Each year, Frank would say that they would go next year. And each year, he would find something to postpone his wife’s dream trip.
As years passed by like that, Deb saved money for 65 years. Now she had enough money to buy business tickets for both of them, and a 5-star hotel room. As she had enough, Deb made her plans.
She bought a new swimsuit, and every other thing she would need in there. In the evening, she talked with Frank, and revealed her plan and showed her new swimsuit.
She stated that she would like to spent her 65th birthday in Greece.
Frank laughed, “Greece? Deb, really? At your age?”
Deb was frozen with the shock.
“You’re too old for that now, aren’t you? What are you going to do there? Walk around in that silly swimsuit you bought? No one wants to see that. You don’t want to be parading around in front of a bunch of young people.”
She finally realised that her husband was trying to kill her dreams to go to Greece. When morning arrived, Frank woke up in an empty bed, and a note on Deb’s pillow.
“Went to Greece.”
