Emmy was four when her parents divorced. Short after their divorce, her father married a woman named Jane. Emmy’s mother Gemma had problems with accepting that truth. She was in pain.
Gemma hated Jane as she saw her as the reason why her marriage destroyed. She was also jealous of Jane’s financial status too.
Jane was always kind towards Emmy, as if she was her own. She even had a fund she saved money in for Emmy, which she revealed when Emmy was 18.
But suddenly, on last year, Gemma started to visit Jane. She changed her behaviour against her. It was surprising. When Emmy talked with her father about the situation, he would say that it is better for everyone.
Gemma would appear in every family gathering. Emmy couldn’t believe it. There must be something behind this she was thinking.
When she talked with her mom about the matter, Gemma stated that the life was too short to hold a grudge, and “it’s time I put the past behind us for the sake of family unity.”
Emmy didn’t buy it. There was something behind her mother’s reason to peace with Jane. It was not normal.
Then the truth revealed. It turned out that Jane was fatally ill. That was the reason why Gemma appeared everywhere. She was going to take her position back.
Then what shocked Emmy even further was the affair of her parents. Gemma was sleeping with her ex-husband. She confronted with her father. As her father denied, like he did when Emmy was four, she talked with Jane.
Jane revealed that she gave all control over her finances to her father. Emmy revealed the truth, and Jane then gave control to Emmy.
A week later, Jane was dead. When Robert tried to take all the money, he was shocked because Emmy was now in charge of Jane’s finances. She was the sole owner of her assets.
