On the 4th of October, 2024, Emma C. Brungart, the 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas lost her life in a car accident. Five of her rodeo teammates from Colby College Community Rodeo Team survived that car crash with injuries.
The saddening incident happened at a Y intersection on County Road 21. The reports from Kansas Highway Patrol are suggesting that the car veered between the branches of the road and then crashed into the trees.
19-year-old Emma C. Brungart lost her life in the crash. The driver of the car was an 18-year-old man from Flagler, Colorado.
Other four passengers, a 20-year-old woman from Larned, a 19-year-old woman from Newton, a 19-year-old woman from Galva, and an 18-year-old man from Council Grove and the driver were taken to Citizens Medical Center in Colby.
Colby College Community Rodeo Team announced Emma’s passing from social media as they wrote, “Last night her along with 4 other team members and our work study were involved in a car accident. Unfortunately, Emma did not walk away from this. We are praying for all families involved.”
“Her light will live on in and around the rodeo arena.”
