Felix was the single father of Alice. He was working as a janitor and caring for his daughter. He lost his wife during Alice’s birth. He was a kind man, and always tried to teach his daughter the value of kindness.
One day, while he was resting in his home with his daughter, he heard his neighbour, Mrs. White’s struggle with mowing the lawn.
He rushed outside and immediately offered his help. After Felix mowed Mollie’s lawn, the old lady expressed her gratitude with a plate of cookies. Felix would always help Mollie, when she was in trouble with something.
For Mollie, Felix was the son, where her own son wasn’t. She haven’t seen her son, James in the last 20 years.
Whenever Felix needed, Mollie also would care for Alice too. They were practically a family who are living in next doors.
For many months, their great neighbourhood continued, until one day Felix found Molly unresponsive on her porch.
He was bringing her groceries with her daughter Alice, and found her on the porch. He tried to talk with her, but then called the ambulance. After the authorities arrived, they stated that Molly was gone.
Few days later, James came to Molly’s house. He was a mean man and a terrible neighbour. A week later, Molly’s lawyer came to Felix’s house.
He then revealed that Molly left her house to him after all, she was the son she wished. After that, the lawyer, Mr. Andrews stated that he will do what it is necessary to make James leave, and that Felix should stay out of everything.
In few months, after some courts, James was gone, and the house was left to Felix. Finally, Alice and Felix had their own house, where they can stay together, until Alice would go to college.
