Keith was exhausted with driving the bus in the city. He never liked his job. Then a woman with her baby boarded the bus, which that meant baby cries.
When the bus approached to a stop light, Keith checked the bus interior from the mirror, and noticed that the woman was breastfeeding her baby.
Keith was furious with the sight. He started to insult the lady while the woman, who already had a cover over her body.
As Keith kept yelling, the woman overheard his words. Some other passengers started to talk alike with Keith, and some time had passed.
When the woman was about to leave, Keith gasped with the sight of the husband of the woman who was on a wheelchair. “DANIEL!?!?”
Keith’s heart skipped a beat with the sight of his son, who he didn’t see in seven years. The last time Keith saw Daniel, he didn’t have a wheelchair. He then realised that the woman was his daughter-in-law, and the baby was his grandson.
Then the door got closed. He remembered the past of how 22 years ago his girlfriend Sarah wanted to keep the baby, while Keith wanted her to get an abortion. He remembered how he tried to provide for them for a little while, and how he left his house once he couldn’t bear the weight of his life.
On the next day, after his shift was done, Keith went to Daniel’s house. He found the courage and knocked the door. Daniel opened the door, and tried to close immediately, but Keith wanted to talk and kept the door opened. He apologized, and pleaded.
Then he learned that his girlfriend Sarah was dead after a car crash, which crippled Daniel. He apologized once more.
They didn’t talk much that day. Keith went to Daniel’s house each day, until one day, he was invited.
