Eliza and Noah were married for two years, and Jonathan’s brother Jonathan let them stay in his place while they were renovating the house Sam, Noah’s father bought for them.
There were leaks on the ceiling, and mold issues on the walls. Eliza told her husband that there were going to be meetings with contractors. Noah stated that he would come and check when he finds time, as his father wanted a report.
The house was under Sam and Noah’s name and when Sam passes away, Noah would inherit the whole house while Eliza and Noah were paying the taxes and utilities.
Sam was a great man but he was overbearing and that was slowly irritating Eliza. Noah laughed as he explained that Sam want’s everything to be perfect. But Eliza was frustrated.
Then the electrician, Mr. Thompson arrived. They talked about the plans and then Noah arrived. While he was taking pictures to send to his father, Eliza went upstairs. Then she overheard Sam and Noah talking over the phone.
He was talking about Eliza’s projects and he wanted to make changes with the budget, the tile colours and light fixtures.
Eliza went mad after she heard Sam’s voice over, who came after Eliza went upstairs. She confronted them in the kitchen. Sam stated that he paid a lot for the project and he wants everything to be perfect.
Eliza was sad that Sam was acting as if she was an amateur. She was in the business since she was a small girl, as her family were already had a business in the sector.
As the argument kept going, Sam started to get angry. Eliza explained that she paid a lot of money too, and her name wouldn’t even be on the title.
Noah tried to stop her, as things get tense. Eliza yelled that she won’t. Then turned to Sam, and demanded the money she and her husband put into the project, and stated that she will leave everything to Sam.
She stated that they will just pay for rent and utilities. She let every other thing to Sam.
As Sam called ungrateful to Eliza, she lost it again. She then yelled that she was working for the project tirelessly, and with her full concentration. She was done.
Then Sam turned to Noah and asked, “This is what you married? Someone who can’t even appreciate a good deal when it’s handed to them?”
That was it for Eliza, she asked for her husband or else she stated that she is leaving. Then she went outside. Noah tried to stop her in the doorway, and tried to talk. “I’m going to stay with my brother for a while,” Eliza said, as she needed some time and space to think.
That led to their divorce, as Noah didn’t give the support to his wife, where he was giving everything to his father. Eliza turned back and thought about the things happened. She was sure that she made the right choice by leaving.
