Emma was studying for her biology exam, when her father called her. He called her home immediately. As she asked why was the rush, he just wanted her back at home.
Emma quickly went back home. She was nervous as her father called her back so weirdly, and his voice was not good either. There was something but she couldn’t understand.
As she returned, she saw Linda’s car on the driveway, and her father, Linda and Jacob were in front of Emma’s room. The interior of the house was nervous.
As she entered, she learned that Jacop, Linda’s son and her stepbrother was going to stay at their home, and he will be taking her room. They sent Emma to stay on campus. Emma stated that she didn’t have enough money to live in the campus, as she was working part-time.
Her father stated that she was a smart girl, and she would find out a way. Emma was shocked. How could her father did something like this.
She spent few hours while packing her stuff, and saw Jacop smirking when she was leaving. She found a tiny room and moved in. She struggled a lot about working while studying. Few months later, Emma was working on a better job. She also moved to a decent apartment too.
As months passed, one day Linda called her. She stated that she needed her to come home. Since she was in panic, Emma didn’t ask much and rushed to her father’s place. Then she saw the fire trucks, and saw Linda and her father, desperately watching their house burning down.
She learned that Jacob threw a party in the house, and then the house started to burn. One of his friends dropped a cigarette and the curtains caught on fire. Then the whole house burned down.
The insurance was not covering the full damage, and they were left homeless. Then her father apologized. He stated that he was wrong with kicking her out. Emma stated that her father made his choice, and they needed to live with the consequences.
They pleaded for help. Emma had thought for a second, and refused. They needed to learn from their mistakes.
