Sarah couldn’t believe that her neighbour, Annie had sent her another letter to her about the way her house was looking. She was constantly sending her letters about how terrible her property was looking. As Sarah had enough, she threw the letter into the garbage can.
She jumped with the banging on her door. Her husband was also sleeping since he came from an exhausting night shift. Her baby was also sleeping and her older children were at school.
As she opened the door, she found three elder neighbours of her, Annie, Moureen and Jemma. She asked about their insistent knocks at her door, as the old women were angry.
Annie stated that she had sent many notifications about the situation of Sarah’s house condition, and then she threatened her with calling the authorities and cause them a fine. They stated that they are about to start a homeowner’s association, and Sarah’s house wouldn’t fit their requirements.
The condition of her house was not her first priority as she had other needs. She didn’t care about their association. She then had a plan suddenly. She invited the old ladies inside.
As she offered them tea, Sarah started to talk. She explained to Annie that she received all her letters. But she also revealed that her toddler was sick, and the house condition was not in her priorities.
She asked that if they can hear the machine rumbling. It was her baby’s respiratory machine. She stated that her baby is sick, and his life was at risk. Then Sarah revealed that her husband lost his job at a big company after the company went bankrupt, and that he was now working at a night shift job.
As Annie was about to say something, Sarah stopped her and revealed that her two older children were at school, and they had their own needs. She explained that she neither have the time, nor have the money to fix other people’s problems.
As the old ladies told Sarah that they understood her situation, Sarah thanked them. The ladies apologized before they left.
Few hours later, Sarah found her neighbours working at her front yard. After the old ladies finished, Annie apologized again, as she stated that she is hoping her to forgive herself.
