Amelie moved next to Katherine’s house few months ago. The old woman loved when things were perfect. She was also a woman who would distance her from the community.
One day, the old woman gave a job to Katherine’s 12-year-old son Ethan. She wanted him to mow her lawn for money. Katherine was happy that her son had a relationship with their next-door neighbour.
Two days later, Ethan came back home crying. He told his mother that Amelie didn’t pay him the money she told she would.
The lawn of Amelie was huge, as she had a big property. Ethan stated that it took two days for him to mow the lawn. Katherine told her son that Amelie would pay him in the next days.
Sadly, Amelie didn’t. Ethan was sad all the time, and Katherine learned that Amelie still didn’t pay her son. Then, Ethan revealed that he asked Amelie to pay, but she kicked her out of her property.
Katherine thought she heard enough, and decided to plan a revenge for her son. She called a friend, Mark, who had a landscaping business. She told him to make weird shapes into her hedges when she was not at home. Mark accepted when he learned the reason why.
Then she found a mulch delivery service, and called them. She tried to act as if she was Amelie, and she wanted truckloads of mulch delivered into her driveway.
Then she talked with the neighbourhood, and asked for small favours. She explained what Amelie did to her son, and that she wanted to teach her a lesson.
On the next day, when Amelie returned back to her house, she was shocked with the scene she was facing. Katherine was at her porch, drinking her tea. Some of the neighbours were watching Amelie. Then she noticed Katherine, smirking.
She rushed towards her and yelled that if she was responsible for this mess. “This is unacceptable! You think this is funny?”
Then Katherine responded. “Not as funny as stiffing a 12-year-old out of twenty dollars.”
