JOHN ASHTON, THE “BEVERLY HILLS COP,” PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 76

76-year-old John Ashton, the Detective John Taggart of “Beverly Hills Cop,” passed away.

Ashton was struggling with cancer, and as his representative Alan Somers said to TMZ, Ashton passed away on Thursday, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Somers added that his family is sad, but they found peace with the love and respect John Ashton received from fans.

Alan Somers told to TMZ that, “John leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, children, grandchildren, as well as his brother, sisters, his extended family and all who loved him. John’s impact on the world will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.”

Ashton had appeared in more than 200 movies, and was a huge name for 50 years. Back in July, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” premiered. Ashton told in his interviews that it took 20 years for it to make its debut.

He had appeared in many illustrious roles in his career, and kept working until his passing.

He left his legacy to his wife, Robin Hoye, whom he stayed married for 24 years until he passed away, his children Michelle and Michael Thomas Ashton.

He also had stepchildren, Courtney Donovan, Lindsay Curcio, and Ashley Hoye. He had a grandson, Henry.

He is survived by his brother and sisters, Sharon Ann Ashton and Linda Jean Ashton, Edward Richard Ashton.
