Bessie was playing piano for her late husband, Willie, and it was a special occasion for them. Whenever Bessie would think of her late husband, she would play piano. It would ease her pain, sorrow.
She put a kiss on her late husband’s picture. They were together for 68 years, until Willie passed away. As she was getting ready for sleep, she bid her late husband’s picture good night, and went to sleep.
On the next morning, as Bessie was playing the piano, her joy was cut with rough bangs on her door. Then the angry man shouted that she was disturbing the whole neighbourhood with her terrible piano sound.
Bessie apologized for the disturbance she caused. But it was over 11 a.m., and never before a person had complained.
Then again, on the next morning, while she was playing the piano but this time she closed all her windows, the wife of her new neighbour banged her door and mocked her old age and playing.
Bessie explained that she closed all the windows, “It is not enough!” the angry woman responded. “Quit playing and disturbing us!”
Bessie cried as she talked with her late husband’s picture. Whatever she did to keep the music down, her neighbour again complained. She thought that her new neighbours are just doing it because they were terrible people, not because they were disturbed with the sound.
She couldn’t hold herself and played the piano one night again. When the morning arrived, she found a message on her door, sprayed with red paint, ”SHUT UP!”
That was it for her. She stopped playing after that event. Her son Jacob called Bessie that day. When he heard her voice, he was sure that something happened. Bessie explained the situation, and revealed that she was feeling tired.
Then Jacob stated that he would call his daughter and she could check her up. Few hours later Melissa was there at her grandmother’s house.
Bessie cried as she was happy, and told Melissa what happened. Then her granddaughter cleaned her door, and started to think of a revenge against the terrible neighbours.
Melissa made some calls on the next day, and installed small speakers under the windows of Bessie’s neighbours. As the neighbours were at home, she played piano music. When they left the house, she played dog barking.
“Nobody can mess with my Nana!” She said, as she hugged to Bessie.
