Annie was working for the same company for a decade, since she was graduated from college. Slowly but steady, she became a leader in the company. As days were passing, her son, five-year-old Kenny got sick one day.
Kenny was burning with fever and he was constantly vomiting. Annie’s heart couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her son alone with a babysitter, so she decided to take a eek off and care for her son.
He talked with her boss, but the man was angry when he learned that Annie was skipping a week. He shouted that the annual meetings were starting, and hung up the phone.
Annie took her son to the doctor, and cared for him for the rest of the week. Once her son was healthy again, she returned to her office.
She was not aware what was waiting for her at the office. Her boss greeted her, where he was waiting for her in her office with police officers. He accused her with lying, and stated that she had no son.
The officers took Annie into custody, and she was thrown into a cell at the station. She was a single mother, and no person knew that her son was alone. Her neighbour would take Kenny in after school, but that was it.
She then pleaded for a phone call, and she talked with her best friend, who was a lawyer. As soon as Mia heard what happened, she went to the police station, and she got Annie out.
Then they found out that her boss, Mr. Williams arranged everything. The man paid the officers for her arrest, since for their company agreement, if an employee was arrested, they had the rights to fire that person without paying any money.
As Mia found out the truth, she take things into the court for her friend. From the lawsuit, Annie received $40,000. Then the company fired Mr. Williams for he used his power in an illegal activity.
A week later, the company promoted Annie to the position of her former boss.
