Family from Georgia suffered the loss of two family members, 4-year-old Derrick and 7-year-old Harmony. Hurricane Helene claimed more than two dozen Georgians, along with the brother and sister.
Taylor family enjoyed their night together with their children. The children went to sleep with their father 34-year-old mother Crystal Taylor checked her children, who were watching TV, while her husband, 39-year-old Herbert Taylor was sleeping in their bed with Harmony and Derrick.
The family knew that Hurricane Helene was approaching, but they were not sure where it would hit.
Sadly, the city of Sandersville was on the route of the hurricane. At 4:00 a.m., Crystal’s mother called her daughter, and Crystal stated that the wind gotten stronger. There was a huge tree in their backyard.
Herbert checked the backyard, and saw the cover of his truck was floating towards the house. Before he could reach to his children, Derrick and Harmony, the house collapsed.
The giant oak tree fell onto the house, and sadly, it directly fell above the children. Crystal and Cassidy were rushed outside, while Herbert yelled, “My babies,” when the impact created electrical fire.
“A tree fell on top of our house. My 4-year-old brother and my 7-year-old sister are in it. The house is on fire,” Cassidy said, as she called the authorities.
“I can’t get to my babies.” Crystal cried. Sadly, the children passed away. Taylor family is believing that the children passed away directly after the impact.
“I wanna thank everybody for the calls txt and all the luv and prayers we been getting it really means a lot to us at this difficult time much luv to yall.” Grieving father Herbert shared from Facebook.
“Hello everyone, I wanted to reach out to everyone and say that nothing has went unnoticed and me and my family appreciate all the love that has been shown to us during this time.” Crystal shared also.
